The majority of Bucknell’s incoming transfer students were originally enrolled at four-year colleges and universities, though some previously attended a two-year college. An associate degree is not required, but transfer candidates from two-year colleges are strongly encouraged to complete their two-year degree.
Students who apply and typically are admitted have an average GPA of 3.6. To be competitive within the applicant pool, a GPA of 3.0 is preferred and often necessary. We typically enroll about 20 to 30 transfers for the fall semester and 15 to 20 for the spring semester. There is traditionally more room available for rising juniors than there is for rising sophomores.
