Visiting Bucknell

From historical buildings that reflect a storied tradition to new facilities that take into account the ambition of providing the premier undergraduate experience in American higher education, there is much to discover at Bucknell.

The University’s first building, Taylor Hall, was constructed in 1848 and is now used by management students. Among the newest facilities, the Kenneth Langone Athletics and Recreation Center was completed in 2003 and houses a state-of-the-art fitness center, Olympic-size pool, and the 4,000-seat Sojka Pavilion, home of the men's and women's basketball teams.

Campus is occupied year-round. Academic semesters run from September through December and mid-January through mid-May. Summers, campus hosts business and professional conferences and sports camps.

When visiting the 450-acre Bucknell campus, plan to spend time in historic Lewisburg, where you’ll find a variety of galleries and museums, unusual shops, coffee houses, and restaurants. Don't miss the gingerbread architecture, porches, carved wooden doors, and three-globed streetlights, all of which lend town an old-fashioned charm.
