Bucknell hosts a regional symposium on Pennsylvania Native Americans, their proud yet oppressed history, and their present and future in changing national and regional cultures.

The Susquehanna River Initiative integrates research, teaching, and outreach focused on the Susquehanna River.
NHCI participants won the 2008 Maxwell Award for Administrative Excellence and 2009 Miller Prize for outstanding student honors research (second time in three years). The program currently is coordinating research sponsored by the Conservation Fund on Native American cultures in the Susquehanna Valley.
