LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning's "Lunch and Learn" program will host the lunchtime event, 'Duke Ellington' on Nov. 29.
Phil Haynes, lecturer in music and Kushell Jazz Artist in Residence at Bucknell, will lead the presentation. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for the noon program, which is free and open to the public.
Haynes encourages attendees to bring their stories/memories of Ellington, as they might have seen him perform at some point. In addition, Haynes' CD of easy-listening jazz will be available for sale.
Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase lunch (pumpkin corn chowder and chicken salad sandwich) for $5; beverages and a light dessert will be provided.
To order a lunch, contact the BILL office at 570-577-7006 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org up to noon of the day prior to the program; payment can be made at the door. No registration is required.
