Empty Bowls 2014 - Help Fight Hunger!
Empty Bowls helps to raise money for local foods programs that assist the needy. This year, Empty Bowls collaborating with International Women's Day to education others on food insecurity internationally and in our area.
A simply meal of soup and bread are served in hand-crafted ceramic bowls for a donation of $10. 1 in 8 Americans struggle with hunger daily!Proceeds help support Bucknell's Community Harvest program and guests get to take home an "empty bowl" of their choice to remind them that there are many individuals in our society struggling with hunger.
This year's event will take place on March 6th. There will be two meal times, 11:30-2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in the Center Room!
For $10, you will receive a hand-made clay bowl, bread and soup. Proceeds from the event benefit the Community Harvest Meal in Milton, a free hot meal program that serves 80-120 people every Monday evening. Tickets can be purchased starting mid-February 2014!
Empty bowls is a collaboration of the Office of Civic Engagement, the Craft Center, Parkhurst Dining Services, and local restaurants.
