Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger that was created by The Imagine Render Group. (Learn more about Empty Bowls.)
At Bucknell, a simply meal of soup and bread is served in hand-crafted ceramic bowls for a donation of $10. Proceeds help support the Community Harvest Meal in Milton, a free hot meal program that serves 80-120 people every Monday evening. Guests get to take home an "empty bowl" of their choice to remind them that there are many individuals in our society struggling with hunger.
Out empty bowls event is a collaboration of the Office of Civic Engagement, the Craft Center, Parkhurst Dining Services, and local restaurants.
