The Griot Institute for Africana Studies manages this timeline with the intention of detailing and highlighting some significant milestones in Bucknell University's African-American history.
The following is a collection of research gathered by Bucknell student, Marissa Calhoun '10 as a part of her independent study course work during the spring of 2009. Much of the material featured on this site were uncovered in the University archives and were also derived from the testimonies of Bucknell students, staff, and alum. The information presented serves the purpose of providing information about the histories of and for continuing conversations about Black Bucknell.
