Admission into the Institute is by online application only. Approximately equal numbers of management, engineering, and liberal arts students will be selected for the ILTM class, limited to 24 students annually.

As part of the online application process, you will need to provide the names of two faculty members at Bucknell that can speak on your behalf. These faculty do not need to write a recommendation for you; rather they should be able to comment on your work quality and work ethic should this input be necessary. Additionally, you will need to prepare three short essays in response to the following questions. All three essays should be contained in a single PDF document that will be uploaded on the application page.

  1. What work and/or leadership experience have you had? (fewer than 500 words)
  2. Given what you know about the various topics and issues addressed in the ILTM program, what would you bring to the program and what do you expect to get out of the program? (fewer than 500 words)
  3. It is the year 2034. You are working in an advanced technology firm employing scientific advances not envisioned in the year 2014. What is the business of your firm? What is your title? What is the most critical problem facing you and how do you plan to solve it? (fewer than 1000 words)

Applications are due by 5 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) on Jan. 6, 2015.

ILTM will again have an Early Application option, which is intended for students who must know whether they are accepted before Jan. 25. Students who submit their applications by 5 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2014 should receive their acceptance decision by Dec. 23. It is expected that the acceptance criteria for this round of acceptances will be more rigorous than for the regular admissions process. It is possible that some early decision applicants will be notified that their application will be deferred and considered with the remaining applications that are received by Jan. 6.
