Bucknell University is located along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in the scenic Valley and Ridge Province of the Appalachian Mountains. The Geology Department takes full advantage of this rural setting by taking many field trips to explore the folded strata and the variety of processes that help to create the distinctive landscape of central Pennsylvania.
