Makoto Fujimura '83

Makoto Fujimura '83 has spent a lifetime dedicated to beauty, both creating it and exploring it in all its forms. "My paintings speak about creativity in general and what it means to see. When we observe a sunset or a flower, what do we really see?" he asks. "I don't mean just categorizing the object. There is something we see and experience that is inexpressible, at least beyond words, and that is what we often refer to as beauty." (read more)

 

This exhibition can also be seen at the Martin Museum (Baylor University) in Waco, Texas from October 19 - November 13, 2010.

 

Exhibition hours for "Soliloquies" will be Tuesday - Saturday, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

 

Event weekends will have extended hours. Commencement weekend hours will be Friday, May 21 - Sunday, May 23, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Reunion weekend hours will be Thursday, June 3, 1 - 4 p.m.; Friday, June 4 - Sunday, June 6, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
