Committed to Academic & Athletic Excellence
Bucknell has one of the largest varsity programs in the country, with 27 teams competing in the Division I Patriot League. But many more of our students compete in recreational sports through an extensive intramural program. It consists of more than 40 men’s, women’s and co-recreational teams – from basketball and golf to tennis and volleyball. Many students enjoy the friendly competition provided by the 20 student-initiated and student-run club sports, ranging from cycling and rugby to crew and Ultimate Frisbee.
Our athletics facilities, among the finest anywhere, include a state-of-the art fitness center that is open most days from 6 a.m. to midnight as well as an Olympic-class pool and an 18-hole golf course.

M. Lacrosse. 12th-Ranked Bucknell Men's Lacrosse Opens 2012 Campaign Saturday at Home vs. No. 19 Delaware
The Bucknell men's lacrosse squad, ranked No. 12 nationally after a record-setting 2011 campaign, kicks off the 2012 season on Saturday at home against No. 19 Delaware. Opening faceoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Admission is free for all Bison regular-season home games.
M. Track. Bucknell Winter Classic to Serve as Final Track & Field Lead-up to PL Championships
Bison track and field has one last shot to make sure everything is in order for the Patriot League Championships, and it will complete its final tune-up this Saturday when it hosts the Bucknell Winter Classic. The first events at Gerhard Fieldhouse get underway 9:30 a.m., starting with the long jump and triple jump. The 60-meter hurdles will open the running events at 11 a.m. Live results will be available at BucknellBison.com for the first time this season.

Wrestling. Bucknell Wrestling Closes Regular Season this Weekend at Lock Haven, Home vs. Penn
The Bucknell wrestling team will close its 2011-12 regular season with a pair of dual matches this weekend. On Friday, the Bison will make the short trip to Lock Haven for a 7 p.m. match with the Bald Eagles. On Sunday, Bucknell will host Penn in a noon match inside Davis Gym, the final competition for the Bison until the EIWA Championships the first weekend in March.
