Bison Bikes is a free, community based, bike-sharing program and learning lab, aimed at providing an alternative mode of transportation for the Bucknell undergraduate community, limiting the environmental impact of student transportation, and increasing the availability of transportation on campus.
Normal hours Sept. 15 to Nov. 26 are Monday - Friday: 5 - 6 p.m.
Bike Shop is located in the Grove near the Gateway Apts.
Interested in a bike? You must show up during the hours above and bring your BUID. We have semester long rentals as well as day and multi-day rentals. Each bike will come with a helmet and lock. They should be used for safety of yourself and the bike.
Bikes, locks, and helmets must be returned on the due date at the Bison Bike Barn or you will be charged $5.00 a day until the cost of the bike is reached. Then we will put a hold on your account.
A rented Bison Bike, lock, and helmet is the responsibility of the user, in adherence with the Bison Bike waiver, as well as the rules and regulations sheet. Please refer to each of these documents prior to bike rental. Bikes must be locked appropriately (see video). If you do not lock the bike responsibly and do not use our U-Locks, you will be help responsible for the bike theft.
Please email questions to email@example.com or refer to the Bison Bike FAQ sheet.
We offer bike mechanic workshops to teach you how to fix your own bike. Please watch the message board for clinics or ask the shop when these events will occur.
If you are having issues with your own personal bike, we will work with you to teach you how to assess mechanic concerns, provide the tools, and mechanics to help you fix your own bike. You will need to buy the parts at a local bike shop, but we can help you fix your own bike.
We also offer bike excursions throughout the semester with Outdoor Education and Leadership. If you wanted to mountain bike or just go on a joy ride, please sign up for an experience.
Lastly, we do have a partnership with the Bucknell Cycling team to provide a few road bikes to participants of the cycling team. Please work with the cycling team to learn more! Get Outside!
