The Advocates are trained members of the Bucknell community whose primary responsibility is to provide information to student survivors regarding the medical, academic and legal options or needs a student may have following a sexual assault. With a focus on empowering the survivor to make his or her own decisions, the Advocates help to facilitate referrals, accompany survivors to medical treatment, answer questions about legal and judicial options, and help to ensure appropriate follow-up and support. They also assist survivors in connecting with resources that can help minimize the impact an assault may have on a student's academic career.
The Advocates are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help students connect with helpful resources both on and off campus. If you or a friend would like to speak with an Advocate, call: 570.850.6115 (cell phone).
Talking to an Advocate is not the same as filing a report with the Department of Public Safety. If you wish to do so, please call 570.577.1111 (emergency) or 570.577.3333 (non-emergency).
