The goal of our research is to understand how babies learn the sounds and meanings of words from the language that they hear. Well before they speak their first words, babies are starting to learn the bits and pieces of their language. Language development begins with babies! This research is important because babies and toddlers use this early language knowledge as they learn to understand words and sentences and begin to talk. Three to five year olds build on this knowledge to understand and tell stories, learn about letters, and learn to read and write. We invite all families in the area to participate in our research studies. We are glad to talk with you and look forward to learning from your baby! Learn more about how to participate. |
