Department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics
Knowing another language system, culture, and communication strategies enables students to access new information and knowledge, develop insight into their own language and culture, and participate in multilingual communities and a global society.
The Department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics at Bucknell offers courses in five modern languages - Arabic, French, German, Italian and Russian, and, on occasion, in other Slavic languages - as well as in American Sign Language and in linguistics. For other foreign language opportunities, please see the websites for East Asian Studies, Spanish and Classics.
