International Education: The world is our campus

Bucknell students in Berlin The primary mission of the Office of International Education is to provide an international focus to the academic life of Bucknell students. More than 40 percent of all Bucknell students study one or more semesters abroad in a variety of undergraduate study opportunities in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Central and South America.

Both language and non-language majors are encouraged to consider a semester or academic year abroad when curricular plans might be enhanced by such experiences.

Bucknell sponsors programs in Spain, France, Barbados, and England and offers a number of approved programs through formal relationships with global education organization partners. In addition, domestic programs sponsored by other American colleges or institutions have been approved for Bucknell student participation, including the Duke University Marine Laboratory Program in North Carolina and semester internship programs in Washington and Philadelphia.

In addition to semester and year-long programs, Bucknell also offers faculty-led summer programs in such locations as Barbados, Northern Ireland, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
