The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) green building certification program is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of green buildings.
Taking into consideration sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, and innovation in design, the LEED rating system is designed to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of a building's green features during construction and over its life cycle.
Bucknell University is currently pursuing LEED Silver certification for the recently constructed Academic West building. During design and construction, Bucknell chose to implement many green and sustainable features.
The design and construction of Bucknell's newest fraternity houses earned LEED Silver certification.
