New Student Orientation

The New Student Orientation Program is an extensive five-day program that focuses on scholarship, tradition and community. Through meetings with academic advisers, participation in traditional ceremonies and events, and engaging in community building activities, new students will learn the values of scholarship and community living and have the opportunity to connect with hundreds of their classmates.
Students are invited to attend one or more of our pre-orientation opportunities, programs designed to help acclimate students and introduce them to fellow classmates, upperclass students and University administrators before orientation begins.
New Student Orientation Schedule
The exciting five-day schedule focuses on academic and social expectations, learning University traditions and providing opportunities for students to meet their new classmates.
New Student Orientation Staff
The orientation staff, made up of over 100 upperclass students, works to welcome first-year students and help them with their transition to the Bucknell community.
Review Bucknell lingo to help ease the transition to campus life.
Each year, Bucknell selects a common reading for the incoming class. New students discuss the book with each other, faculty members and staff at New Student Orientation.
