The Bucknell wilderness experience known as BuckWild is a dynamic outdoor pre-orientation program held in Central Pennsylvania.

BuckWild is a fun and exciting experience to help you ease into university life at Bucknell. The transition from high school into the university can be a stressful experience. BuckWild is a proactive approach to help navigate challenges that first-year students may face. The goals are to help with: 1) Academic Transition 2) Social Transition 3) Intrapersonal Transition 4) Connecting you to the Bucknell community. You will be introduced to 2 or 3 upper class student leaders that will provide you perspective into these transitions as you begin your journey.

During BuckWild you will enjoy socializing with your new classmates, participating in planned activities designed by your student leaders, enhancing your leadership skills through the catalyst of the outdoor experience, and engaging in conversations to provide perspective on the Bucknell community and culture. The BuckWild experience supports you in creating your new support network for the rest of your time at Bucknell. This social network and the BuckWild experience will help you boost personal confidence, manage academic, social, and personal challenges accordingly.

Bucknell University is known for providing its students with a world-class education, but also with the tools to succeed outside of the classroom. Today's graduates will leave Bucknell with a tremendous education that includes strong leadership skills, communication, understanding diverse perspectives, and problem solving skills whether in the backcountry, the classroom, the boardroom, or the lab. BuckWild is the first step to success in your Bucknell career. We challenge you to take that step with BuckWild!!
