Leanne Freas Trout ‘50

Leanne Freas Trout ’50 made a special gift in memory of her late husband, David Trout ’50, who was an emeritus trustee. The David Morton and Leanne Freas Trout Professorship of French and Francophone Studies is the first endowed faculty position funded through the comprehensive campaign.

The professorship recognizes academic and teaching excellence and gives the recipient resources to pursue scholarly interest in French. It also enables French faculty to develop new courses based on scholarly study pursued during year-long sabbaticals. Leanne, who majored in French, also endowed two renewable $5,000 scholarships for outstanding students of French.

Bucknell's academic strength depends on teaching and scholarship at the highest level. Gifts like this one make it possible for Bucknell to carry on that tradition.
