Major theatre productions, showcase projects, and "Cocktail Theatre," a series of one-act plays are presented each year
"The audition process for my scholarship introduced me to a wonderful 'family' of theatre students and faculty. “All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players,” Jacques’ monologue begins in Shakespeare’s As You Like it. But in Bucknell’s theatre program, you are more than an actor.
Experience every aspect of theatre and staging. Perform, design, direct, collaborate and experiment - while our professors inspire, entertain and challenge you. Whether you're interested in costume, makeup, sound, set or lighting design, you are an all-around artist, not a mere player. That's how we'll treat you, and that's how we'll teach you.
Auditions and production opportunities are open to all students.
We value collaboration, hands-on learning, imagination, curiosity, and experimentation.

Additionally, the theatre & dance department itself provides an internship each year in the area of costume design and construction. The internship provides an intense postbaccalaureate experience that encourages the intern to work, design and build a portfolio for career and graduate school preparation.
