Joe Meiser is a studio artist who specializes in sculpture, installation, and performance art. Prior to teaching at Bucknell, Meiser taught introductory sculpture and drawing classes at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. At Bucknell, Meiser now teaches all levels of sculpture, as well as introductory drawing.

In his studio, Meiser investigates the limited and often flawed nature of our human perceptions, the manner in which our bodies direct our experience of the world, and our human compulsion to create narratives. Meiser constructs object-based representational sculpture, installations, kinetic works, and also utilizes time-based media.Meiser has exhibited his artwork in numerous venues across the United States, including: Northwestern University, Jack the Pelican Presents in Brooklyn, the Athens Institute for Contemporary Art in Georgia, Western Washington University, The Waterloo Center for the Arts, The University of Wisconsin at Madison, and Columbia College in Chicago.
