Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, was founded in 1924. For nearly 90 years, the organization has grown to include 850 chapters, and inducts approximately 9,000 new members each year.

Bucknell's Epsilon Beta chapter of Sigma Tau Delta was founded in 2010. In order to become eligible for membership in Sigma Tau Delta, a student must have completed at least two English courses above the 100-level and must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Eligible students in their sophomore, junior and senior years are typically alerted of their candidacy in early February and initiated mid-March. Students are not required to fulfill either an English major or minor in order to be eligible for membership in the society. || 2014-15 Member List (pdf)
