American Association of University Women: Internship, Public Policy and Government Relations
AAUW's Public Policy and Government Relations Department seeks two to three interns to work with both its legislative and grassroots teams each quarter/semester. Interns will learn about the legislative process and provide grassroots assistance to members. Past interns have had the opportunity to monitor legislation, participate in lobby visits, attend Congressional hearings and press conferences, and respond to requests from policy-makers and members.

Internships for Undergraduate Students - Human Rights Watch offers academic semester and summer internships for undergraduate students in our New York, London, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Brussels, and Berlin offices. Interns may be placed in one of the following regional or thematic programs at HRW: Africa, the Americas (does not include US or Canada), Asia, Europe & Central Asia, Middle East & North Africa, United States, Arms, Children's Rights, Women's Rights, HIV/AIDS & Human Rights, Business & Human Rights, Refugees, Emergency Response, Terrorism/Counterterrorism, International Justice, and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Rights. Description: Undergraduate internships are primarily administrative and clerical in nature, but other projects can be assigned as they arise and match the student's interests and abilities, including research, drafting documents, translating, and helping researchers prepare for missions.

The Pedro Zamora Public Policy Fellowship
The Everett Summer Internship Program. AIDS Action is offering internship opportunities to current undergrad or graduate students who seek experience in HIV-related public policy and government affairs. Selected individuals will work with staff in numerous roles, including researching a variety of public health and civil rights issues related to HIV prevention, treatment and care; attending Congressional hearings and coalition meetings; monitoring voting records; reviewing the federal register and Congressional Record; preparation of briefing materials, correspondence, and mailings; and general office administration. Aids Action is looking for candidates with strong research, writing, and organizational skills and a willingness to work in a professional office. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is critical. Familiarity with HIV-related issues and the legislative processes is preferred, but in no way essential. People of color, women, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals, and HIV-positive individuals are encouraged to apply.
