The Presidential Arts Initiative advanced, supports and enhances the Arts at Bucknell through seven strategic initiatives.

"I've been able to stretch my creative boundaries because of the support I received from my professors. Whatever you want, they'll help you make it happen."

"I've opened for big-name acts on campus, including Chiddy Bang, Sam Adams and the Cool Kids."

"Our contacts at Hershey were so impressed that they presented our work to upper management."

"My team won the Bucknell competition and got to go to New York as national finalists."

"It has been amazing to find out how humanity will always be connected through the same ideals portrayed in ancient societies."

“Bucknell has given me the opportunity for a new future. I see the world in a new way."

"I even traveled to the American Society of Cell Biology conference in Philadelphia to present a poster on our research."

"I have really appreciated the support I have received from the art department and the way that Bucknell's community has allowed me to pursue a diverse set of interests."

"Being interviewed by faculty members made me really think about my poetry. They asked me what authors I liked and why I wanted to write, and I could tell from those conversations that I would really like Bucknell."

"I love government affairs both at the college and national level and have many government-focused aspirations, ranging from becoming an administrator for student affairs, specifically at a community college, to running for public office and creating a lobbying firm for higher education."

"I received a merit scholarship for music and an opera scholarship, and I became one of two freshman selected to be part of the Bucknell Opera Company."

"I am trying to apply what I learn in class to my extracurricular activities, but I cannot do it without my professors. They are constantly involved in my life as teachers, but more importantly as role models."

"Once I visited, I fell in love with how beautiful it is here. I felt like I belonged."

"I thought it looked really nice, so when I got home I looked more into the academics and I saw that there were really good academic programs and also a really good emphasis on the arts. I was looking for a school that had both, so it became one of my top choices."

"Bucknell does a great job of helping those who need it. I'm on a math scholarship and a dean's scholarship, plus a National Merit Scholarship. Studying at Bucknell is a huge opportunity for me."

"The iPhone only came out a few years ago, and Bucknell is already offering a research course on it. It's very cool that we have professors pushing toward the new stuff."

"I always enjoyed problem solving. I was interested in how larger structures work, like bridges, tunnels and roads. I started in mechanical engineering, but I realized I wanted to deal with bigger structures and literally bigger problems."

"Trumpet is the main instrument I use to express my passion. It's become an important part of me. When I graduate, I want to pass what I feel about music on to other people."
