Bucknell Press has been publishing in the arts, humanities and social sciences since 1968. We are a small press producing cutting edge scholarship in monographs and collections of essays, made with care and attention to artistic design. With the personal touch of a small organization, we work with a variety of commissioning editors, peer reviewers, editorial board members, graphic designers, and with our partners in production, the Rowman & Littlefield, to produce books having the global reach and critical profile characteristic of a large modern publishing house. Our books appear in hardcover, paperback, and electronic format for download to multiple handheld and computer devices.
Over the years we have become one of the leading publishers of Luso-Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, and interdisciplinary eighteenth-century studies, while continuing to publish extraordinary occasional texts in other areas, including philosophy, French literature, art history, and cultural studies. While we consider hundreds of projects and publish approximately 35 titles per annum, we welcome book proposals from scholars and independent writers across the whole range of humanistic disciplines, not excluding biography, literary criticism, Africana studies, transnational considerations, legal theory and legal history, and historiography.
The university press as we know it arises out of the Renaissance commitment to humanistic knowledge and textual practice. In our own way, Bucknell University Press is proud to contribute to that important and ongoing scholarly and critical enterprise.
— Greg Clingham, Director of the Press and Professor of English
