Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania at Bucknell is an AmeriCorps Education Award Only program.

This means that participating students enroll as AmeriCorps members on a part-time basis and receive a partial Education Award at the end of their term. Students elect to serve either 300 or 450 hours of community service during the course of the year. Students select a project or organization of their choice and work with them for the duration of the year. In the past, Scholars have worked with a Community Clinic in Sunbury, created the Community Harvest hot meal program, volunteered with the Red Cross, and worked at the Milton YMCA to name a few.

Head Start

Assist with recruiting and training tutors in addition to tutoring local elementary students
Matt Diles and Wallis Gaillard

Lewisburg Community Garden

Works with harvesting and producing the vegetables from the garden and distributing them to local food programs

Ryan Smith and Nigel Robinson

Office of Civic Engagment

Assists with planning, advertising and running community service projects

Carly Chafey, Casey Coffman (Spring 2013) and Emerson Davis

Community Harvest
