A practical, hands-on understanding of fluid mechanics phenomena is critical to the successful practice of chemical engineering, and the design of chemical processes.
The Fluid Flow Laboratory provides basic exposure to equipment commonly used to characterize important properties of common fluids, such as viscosity and surface tension. Following this, students are provided hands-on introduction to a wide range of practical experiments including fluidized beds, frictional losses in piping systems, and unsteady flow phenomena.
