Health Care, Organic Agriculture,
and Sustainable Development
A Short-Term Study-Abroad Program
Program Dates: May 22-June 10, 2007


Please submit your application early, since admissions are made on a rolling basis.

Applications are due by February 2, 2007.

ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS MAY APPLY, INCLUDING MEMBERS OF 2010 CLASS.

If you are applying only for this Short-Term Study Abroad Program in Nicaragua, there is no need to complete a separate application for preliminary approval to study off campus.

COURSES - 1 or 2 Course Credits

1)  All students are required to take the following one full credit Bucknell summer course,
Grass Roots Development (Geog 237)
Co-Taught by Prof. Paul Susman & Dr. Don Stechschulte

2)  Students may opt to sign up for a second full credit course in addition to the required course.
Independent Study course (Geog 320). 

Based in Nueva Vida at the Center for Development in Central America, the Non-Governmental Organization of the Jubilee House Community, Inc. our hosts for this program as well as the Bucknell Brigade, the group will focus on development problems and how local communities struggle to define and achieve their own goals.
