Please submit your application early, since admissions are made on a rolling basis. All undergraduate students may apply.


Required Course

  1. All students are required to take GEOG 237: Grass Roots Development, a one full credit Bucknell summer course, co-taught by Prof. Paul Susman (geography) and Prof. Emek Uçarer, (international relations).
  2. Students may opt to sign up for a second full credit course in addition to the required course — GEOG 200: Independent Study.

Based in Nueva Vida at the Center for Development in Central America, the Non-Governmental Organization of the Jubilee House Community, Inc. our hosts for this program as well as the Bucknell Brigade. The group will focus on development problems and how local communities struggle to define and achieve their own goals.
