Arts First is a five-day program for members of the Class of 2022 to learn about the rich possibilities Bucknell offers for students interested in the arts. In addition to exploring the creative process with like-minded students, you will have the opportunity to learn about Bucknell's arts academic programs, centers, internships, and student clubs, and arts entrepreneurship, community-building, and leadership opportunities.
You will work with a visiting artist and Bucknell faculty in the disciplines of theatre, dance, music, art, art history, creative writing, museum studies, publishing, and film and media. The program will culminate with the creation of an original art event.
This special arts pre-orientation includes but is not exclusive to Bucknell's Arts Merit Scholars and Arts Residential College students. The program is designed for incoming Bucknell undergraduate students who would like to explore the arts for enrichment or as a possibility platform for future careers.
Arts First does not require you to have any formal arts preparation, although experienced student artists are welcome and encouraged to attend. You need only be interested in exploring the arts and creativity with other like-minded students.
Arts First is held on Bucknell's campus from Friday, Aug. 10 - Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018. Come and meet your new Bucknell classmates for a fun and creative experience before New Student Orientation
Arts Merit Scholars and Arts Residential College students can participate for free — watch your email for a "Promo Code" you can use when registering. For other arts-minded students, the program cost is $375.
Registration opens in early May.
If you have questions about the program, experience any trouble registering, or need your Promo Code, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
