Majors and Minors in Theatre will be able to:

Demonstrate a basic knowledge of Western dramatic literature and performance styles as a part of humanistic and cultural studies. (1, 3)

Demonstrate visual literacy in relating artistic media to theatre styles. (8)

Think critically, analytically, and creatively about theatre and communicate ideas effectively in writing and through oral presentations. (6, 7)

Create classroom and production laboratory projects through research, interpretation, conceptual discussion, collaboration, and practice. (2, 4, 5, 9)

Minors in Dance will be able to:

Demonstrate a physical understanding of a variety of dance forms by expanding individual movement vocabulary, technique and artistry. (1)

Demonstrate an understanding of the performance experience, including physical and artistic self-awareness, and the integration of theory and physical practice. (1)

Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively in an artistic production. (2, 5)

Assess and articulate the role of dance in social, cultural and historical contexts. (3)

Demonstrate visual, textual and kinesthetic literacy through creative and written responses to artistic works and assignments. (4,7, 6)

Demonstrate a life-long appreciation of dance and the role it plays in one's life and career path. (9)
