LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Bucknell University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host a free First Step pre-business workshop Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce conference room.
The Chamber of Commerce is located at 2859 N. Susquehanna Trail, Shamokin Dam.
This free workshop is sponsored by M&T Bank.

Topics to be covered include: how to assess the feasibility of a business idea, differences among business organization structures, how to develop a business plan, how to obtain financing, the applications and licenses needed to start a company, how to market a product or service, and other resources to help with business planning.
After attending a First Step Workshop, participants can meet with an SBDC business consultant for free and confidential business consulting.
The Bucknell SBDC has been helping businesses Start, Grow, and Prosper for more than 35 years in Union, Northumberland, Juniata, Montour, Perry and Snyder counties. The center provides education, information and consulting to entrepreneurs just investigating a market opportunity and developing a business plan, as well as to existing businesses seeking to innovate, grow, and sustain. Each year the Bucknell SBDC helps more than 30 entrepreneurs achieve their dream of starting their own business. In the past five years, businesses assisted by the Bucknell SBDC have grown their sales by almost $40 million and created more than 400 jobs.
