Dr. Lonnie Smith Trio will perform on Thursday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium Lobby. The performance is free and open to the public. Tickets are not required.

Dr. Lonnie Smith will also conduct a free lecture and demonstration on Friday, April 21, at 1 p.m. in the Weis Center Atrium Lobby.

The Trio is made up of Dr. Lonnie Smith on Hammond B3 organ, Jonathan Kreisberg on guitar and Joe Dyson on drums. Smith is an unparalleled musician, composer, performer and recording artist. With a career spanning more than five decades, Smith stands as the preeminent Hammond B-3 organist in jazz today.

Often hailed as a legend, he has been featured on more than 70 albums, and has recorded and performed with some of the greatest jazz, blues and R&B giants in the industry. At the age of 73, he's still progressing as an artist, as witnessed by his remarkable new Blue Note album, appropriately titled Evolution.

This event is made possible through the Jazz Touring Network program of the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
