Harriet Edelman '77
Harriet Edelman '77 is an accomplished executive with over 20 years of global operating experience. A director of public companies since 2001, she serves on the boards of Brinker International, Ariba, Inc. and Cryptek, Inc. She also serves as information technology advisor to the chairman of The New York Bank and Trust.
Ms. Edelman spent most of her career at Avon Products, Inc. She was named an officer in 1987 and held senior leadership positions in global information technology, manufacturing, distribution, sales, marketing and customer service. A member of Avon's executive committee until she left in 2008, she most recently served as senior vice president and chief information officer. Harriet is a director of the Police Athletic League of New York, and a member of the National Committee for Women in Technology and the National Council for Research on Women. She was named a top "Woman behind the Women" by Forbes and often speaks on leadership, technology and women's advancement.
Ms. Edelman earned a bachelor's degree in music from Bucknell University in 1977 and an MBA in marketing from Fordham University. She is married and has a 16-year-old daughter and two stepsons.
