applied math and economics

My name is Chloe Burgess and I am an applied math and economics major. I am the Vice President of the Class of 2020 and am involved in the Public Committee of Student Government! Last summer, BLINC helped me make great friends before the the school year even started and helped ease my transition into college! I had such a great time in this program this past year and am so excited to be able to stay involved in BLINC!

markets, innovation & design

BLINC has served a foundational role in my Bucknell experience ever since I acclimated into the Bucknell community. This will be the third year that I've been involved with the BLINC program, and just as the program has changed and evolved on campus over the years, so have I. (Wow, that seems almost philosophical.) Outside of the BLINC program you can find me giving tours to prospective Bucknellians (Where I continue to extol the goodness of the BLINC program), playing my french horn in the Bucknell Symphonic Band, and being involved with Greek life. As I like to say: imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring! I hope to see all of your bright smiling faces come this August!

Hi everyone! My name is Annie Girton. I am a rising junior and an early childhood education and French major here at Bucknell. On campus I am a presidential fellows research assistant at the Griot Institute for Africana Studies. I am also a volunteer for the Headstart program, a participant in the dance showcases, and a member of a sorority on campus. I was a BLINC counselor last year, so this will be my second year in the role. BLINC has been an extremely important part of my Bucknell experience and I am so excited to be involved in the program for another year. I am looking forward to a great program this summer!

education and psychology

Hi everyone! My name is Chandler Houldin and I am from Roxbury, Connecticut. I currently plan on majoring in education and psychology and minoring in Spanish. On campus I am involved in Bucknell Student Government and served as First Year Class President for the Class of 2020. In addition to being a BLINC Facilitator, I hold the position of Marketing Chair for my Hall Council, and am a photographer for The Bucknellian. You can often find me studying in the library, spending time with friends in 7th Street Café, or grabbing a bite to eat in the Caf. I enjoy running, photography, and listening to the latest hits. Participating in BLINC 2016 was the best decision I've made while at Bucknell so I am super excited for this year's program and to meet all of you. It's going to be an awesome week. Yeah BLINC!

early childhood education

Hi everyone! My name is Kelly McCrary and I am a rising junior here at Bucknell. I am an early childhood education major with a concentration on teaching ESL (English as a Second Language). Other than being involved in BLINC, I tutor children in the Lewisburg community, am involved in Greek life, and am a member of Spoon University. Signing up for BLINC going into my first year at Bucknell was one of the best decisions I made for my college experience. I became more comfortable on campus, met a great group of people, and learned how to be a leader and contribute to the Bucknell community in my own way. I loved the program so much that I never left, and have been involved the past two years. I am so excited for this year's program and to meet some of the incoming first years!

undeclared

Hi! I'm Emily and I am a rising sophomore and a creative writing and literary studies major. On campus I sing in the University Choir, am a member of the Humanities Res College, and am on the Dean's Student Advisory Committee. I'm really passionate about animals and reading, and hope to work in children's publishing one day. I was on the fence about BLINC when I signed up my freshman year, but looking back I realize it was one of the best choices I made. I met my closest friend, gained new leadership skills, and made tons of new connections, which is why I wanted to become a facilitator and continue to be a part of BLINC. Can't wait for August!
