Before registering, you must make an appointment with your adviser to go over your course selections and your Academic Progress Report.
Your Academic Progress Report shows your progress toward the general graduation requirements and the specific requirements of your major. It is available on-line via the Banner Web gadget in myBucknell.
The Course Information page reflects the most up to date schedule information
Your adviser will help you select the appropriate courses and give you your Banner Registration PIN. You won't be able to register online without this PIN.
Registration times are based on class year with seniors registering first, then juniors, etc. You can only register during or after your assigned registration time. || See the Registration Schedule to find your date and time. Remember, if you have class during your assigned time, you may register immediately following class. DO NOT miss class to complete registration.
Once you have your Banner Registration PIN, go to myBucknell during your registration time and access the Course Registration link in the "Reminders" gadget. || Need assistance? Try watching the Online Registration Powerpoint Presentation
If you prefer to register in person, have your adviser sign your completed Course Registration Form and bring that form to the Registrar's Office during your registration time.
If a course is not available, you may choose to be placed on the waitlist. You may not register or waitlist for another section of the same course. To place yourself on the waitlist you must first select an alternate course. The registered course will AUTOMATICALLY be dropped if you are placed in your first choice. If you are unsure if you've properly linked your waitlisted and alternate course please check with the Registrar's Office.
All movement into waitlisted courses will be completed prior to the beginning of the semester. Please check your schedule on myBucknell to see if movement has taken place; notification of schedule changes is not sent. If you do not get moved off the waitlist and do not have a full schedule (at least 4 credits), you will be required to attend Hold Clearance.
**It should be noted, schedules may change after registration due to department requests re: course cancellations, section balancing or added sections. Requested times and faculty cannot be guaranteed. Please check your schedule online to verify courses and sections.**
You will receive information from International Education regarding the process for registering for abroad courses.
As part of the undergraduate program, a student must successfully complete three writing-emphasis courses. These courses teach subject matter through writing and are designed to develop both subject knowledge and writing ability. In these courses, students learn and communicate their knowledge through writing. Writing-emphasis courses are intended to sustain a student's training in writing across the disciplines and throughout four undergraduate years. Therefore, the best plan is to take them in varied fields and to space them out. For the latest complete listing of writing courses, please go to the Writing Center website and select "How to look up a course".
Full-time undergraduate students in residence may earn undergraduate credit by examination, with a letter grade assigned, in courses approved by a department and by the dean of the college concerned. Credit by examination is not available to graduate students, special students, students who have previously audited or failed the course, students on exchange from other universities, and persons who have never attended Bucknell University. Application for such examinations must be made at specific times on a form available at the Registrar's Office. Approval must be obtained from the department chair and dean of the college concerned. If approval is given, the non-refundable credit by examination fee is to be paid to the Cashier for each examination, and the examination is to be taken at the appointed time.
If you plan to register for student teaching, please check out the Department of Education website for additional requirements.
By definition, it is not appropriate to enroll as an auditor for courses involving studio art, applied music, independent study, or thesis preparation, or for any course requiring extra time and attention from the instructor. Note that courses that have been audited may not be taken subsequently for credit. Regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate students may carry audits in addition to their regular course load without additional charge. For any audit by all other students, the course audit fee is charged ($150 per course).
If you are not planning to continue as a student at Bucknell, you should notify your Academic Dean immediately.
