Co-Director Institute for Leadership in Technology & Management (ILTM)

Eric Santanen is an Associate Professor of Information Systems at Bucknell University, where he teaches Introduction to Information Systems, Special Topics in Information Systems, and Living in the Information Age Capstone.

He taught at the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 1994-1995 and at the University of Arizona from 1996-2000. Dr. Santanen served as a Programming Consultant for Ventana Corporation, a programmer for Computron Technologies, Incorporated, a consultant for Schering-Plough Corporation, and a programmer for Merck and Company, Incorporated. Santanen's research deals with an emerging field called Collaboration Engineering, which seeks to formalize the development of repeatable collaboration processes for high-value recurring tasks.

Professor Santanen is a member of the Bucknell University Curriculum Committee, a member of the Bucknell University Committee on Complementary Activities, Chair of the 'Advances in Teaching and Learning Technologies' Minitrack for the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science, Coordinator for the 'Technology Supported Learning Tutorial' for the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science, Program Committee Member for the Tenth Annual Costa Rica International, a member of the Workshop on Groupware, Chair of the 'Creativity in Information Systems' Minitrack for the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science, and Chair of the 'Technology Supported Learning' Minitrack for the Hawaii International Conference on Systems Science.

Professor Santanen received his Bachelor of Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1994, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Applied Mathematics and Science, Technology, and Society. He received his Masters of Science at New Jersey Institute of Technology, 1995 in Computer Science with a concentration in Information Systems. He earned his Ph.D. at University of Arizona in 2001, majoring in Management and Information Systems and minoring in Cognitive Psychology.
