Bucknell Lingo

Review the following lingo to help ease the transition to campus life.

Bucknell LingoWhen I first arrived on campus, my OA got me so excited to be a Bucknellian. They helped me move my belongings into my residence hall room and introduced me to my RA. Since I was on the Global Residential College hall, we immediately met our JF and learned about our foundation seminar class. Later, I asked my OAs where my roommate and I should go to get food. They told me to stop by the LC and either eat in the Bison or Caf. While in the LC, they suggested that I stop by the CAP Center to learn about ACE and other campus activities such as BSG. When I received my class schedule from my adviser, I was excited to see that I was registered for ENGR100 and later found out my roommate was in a MGMT101 class. I really hope we enjoy these courses. Our OAs recommended studying in Bertrand Library and suggested taking breaks in 7th Street Café. After classes started, I asked my OAs where I could get a job on campus. They informed me that many offices hire students, such as WVBU, Library and IT, and that TA positions are sometimes even available. If I wanted to get a head start on looking for an internship, I was told I could stop by the CDC to get guidance. My OAs really emphasized that there were many offices where I could spend my time including LGBT, WRC, and even MSS. I am so glad my OAs and RA helped me get acclimated to my new community. They truly understood my concerns and were available for any questions. I really think I am going to enjoy my time at Bucknell and I hope to take advantage of every moment.
