Please note that you must begin your application well in advance of the deadline so that your recommenders receive appropriate notification. The Stadler Center takes no responsibility for recommendations that arrive after the deadline.
Bucknell Seminar for Younger Poets
Undergraduates at U.S. colleges and universities who will complete their sophomore, junior, or senior year in the year of application are eligible. Students who have begun graduate programs are not eligible.
Application requirements: letter of introduction, poetry resume, poetry sample, official transcript(s), two letters of recommendation.
Stadler Fellowship (Currently inactive)
To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 21 years of age, reside in the United States, have received an advanced degree in creative writing with an emphasis in poetry (i.e. MFA, MA, PhD) no earlier than spring 2007, and not be enrolled as a student during the period of the residency. (Persons enrolled in a college or university at the time of application are eligible). Poets who have published a full-length collection or have a collection accepted for publication are not eligible.
Application requirements: letter of application, curriculum vita, poetry sample, three letters of recommendation.
Roth Residence in Creative Writing
To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 21 years of age, reside in the United States, and not be enrolled as a student in a college or university. (Persons enrolled in a college or university at the time of application are eligible). Some record of publication is desirable. Please note that the 2012-13 Roth Residence will be awarded to a poet. Prose writers (fiction or creative nonfiction) may apply in spring 2013 for the 2013-14 Residence.
Application requirements: letter of application, curriculum vita, writing sample, three letters of recommendation.
Cadigan Prizes for Younger Writers
The Cadigan Prizes for Younger Writers recognize outstanding poetry and prose by Bucknell undergraduates. Current, full-time Bucknell undergraduates are eligible. First and second place cash prizes, as well as honorable mentions at the judges' discretion, are awarded in each of two categories: prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) and poetry. Each year the Stadler Center staff selects writers who are not affiliated with Bucknell to serve as judges. Submission deadline for 2011-2012 is Tuesday, December 6 at 12 midnight.
