Roth Residence in Creative Writing

To be eligible, an applicant must be at least 21 years of age, reside in the United States, and not be enrolled as a student in a college or university. (Persons enrolled in a college or university at the time of application are eligible). Some record of publication is desirable. Please note that the 2013-14 Roth Residence will be awarded to a prose writer (fiction or creative nonfiction). Poets may apply in spring 2014 for the 2014-15 Residence.

Recommendations must be sent electronically via our online application system before the application deadline (If you are using a dossier service, please disregard this section and see below). When you save your application, our system will send each recommender an email with instructions for submitting his or her letter. Ensuring that recommendation letters arrive on time is the responsibility of the applicant. Applicants should discuss the recommendation process with their recommenders before completing their applications. Please be aware that you may need to begin your application well in advance of the deadline in order to provide your recommenders with the time they need to prepare and submit their letters. We encourage you to check with your recommenders to make sure they receive our email. The Stadler Center for Poetry takes no responsibility for recommendation letters that fail to arrive or arrive after the deadline.
