Offering majors in Environmental Geology and Geology

Welcome to the Department of Geology at Bucknell University!

Our department offers a BA and a BS in both Geology and Environmental Geology, and emphasizes hands-on, field-based learning. Recent student graduates are working in environmental engineering consulting firms, government agencies, and education among other careers, or pursuing graduate education in some of the nation's top graduate schools. Bucknell Geology students pause for a photo at the end of the first day of a recent field trip to the Outer Banks and Virginia. The combined group from Applied Geomorphology (Dr. Kochel) and Sedimentology (Dr. Trop) collected sediment (vibra)cores, ran ground-penetrating radar and surveyed the extent of washover fans from Hurricane Isabel.
