VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION
Fall semester - 2013
The Department of Geology at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, invites applications for an entry-level, visiting assistant professor position in Geology for the Fall semester of 2013. Ph.D. or ABD required. Qualified applicants for this visiting position will have no more than four years of full-time postdoctoral teaching experience at the time of appointment. Successful applicants will demonstrate an interest in and potential for teaching and interacting effectively with students having a range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectives and an ability to collaborate effectively with students and colleagues from a range of backgrounds, interests, and perspectives. Familiarity with Appalachian geology is desirable.
This one-semester position will teach two historical geology lecture sections and two accompanying lab sections. Historical geology is taught at the introductory level and serves both majors and non-majors. Each section is capped at 24 students.
The Geology Department offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Geology and Environmental Geology. Bucknell's geology program is field intensive and we expect candidates to make use of local Appalachian field opportunities for labs in the course.
