Major and Minor Requirements
At Bucknell, history majors can focus on two of seven elective fields or "clusters"— American history, European history, non-Western history, intellectual history, political and economic history, social history, and history of science and medicine. Students are encouraged to pick courses that reflect their particular interests, and may design their own primary cluster. In addition to American history, Bucknell professors have specific teaching strengths in the areas of Western Europe (England, France, and Germany), science and medicine, intellectual history, and African history.
