| Bertrand Library |
Library and Computer Resources The library at Bucknell University subcribes to many major mathematical and statistical journals. Most other journals are easily accessible through interlibrary loan programs to which Bucknell subscribes. We have a guide to finding what you want, aimed at members of the mathematics department. In March 2007, following his visit to campus, Ed Sandifer of Western Connecticut State University wrote an article on six mathematical treasures in the special collections of the Bertrand Library. Computing Resources All faculty are provided with computing resources. The University supports Windows, Macintosh and Unix environments with a large suite of supported software. Additionally, the TeX software is available on all university platforms. Classroom Tools Labs are available for departmental use, there are high resolution color printers, scanning equipment, and various other piece of technology for instructional and research purposes.
Instructional Facilities
| Rooke Chemistry 9 Computer Lab |
Rooke Computer Lab There are many computer labs on campus for use in instruction. The one picutred above is frequented by classes from the mathematics department. It has 21 computers connected to an annex with 12 additional computers.
Math Education Tools The mathematics department owns a variety of mathematics manipulatives that assist in the learning and teaching of mathematics. These include items that can be used at the elementary & middle school levels (e.g., pattern blocks, base-10 blocks) as well as the high school & collegiate levels (e.g., Calculator Based Laboratory Units (CBL) with various probes).
