The pages within the Statistics web site are designed as a guide to the resources that are available at Bucknell or elsewhere that provide statistical information on various subjects. The Statistics web site is NOT meant to be a comprehensive resource. The resources listed in the Statistics web site are the most commonly used sources for a particular subject or geographic region, however there are many statistical resources that are not included due to space and other limitations.

The Statistics website is organized by subject or geographic region. The subject pages themselves are further broken down by geographic region (United States, Pennsylvania, International) and consist of resources that primarily focus on the particular subject. The geographic region pages may be further broken down by region (for example, the "International - Europe" page contains sub-headings for individual European nations where resources are available) and contain resources that focus on a particular region. The resources listed in the geographic region pages may contain a wide variety of information on many different subjects. There may be some overlap of information between resources listed in the subject pages and resources listed in the geographic region pages. It is a good idea to be through and check both types of pages for the information you are seeking.

Each statistical resource listed in the statistics pages is accompanied by a brief description of the resource, the information necessary to access the resource in the library (a call number) or online (a hyper link to the resource) and any restrictions on the use of the resource (if it can be used by anyone or only by a current member of Bucknell, if it can be checked out of the library, etc.)

To help you find resources not listed in the Statistics website, each page includes a list of subject headings that can be used to search the library's catalog to find more statistical resources on the same topic. Links to related sections of the Statistics website and the other statistics gateways section are also provided in each page as suggestions for other possible resources to examine for information.
