The Department's many practice rooms are open to music students throughout the day and most of the night. Many are equipped with grand pianos. Others are designed for solo instrumentalists, singers, or chamber groups. The percussion studio, located on the same level as the practice rooms, houses new timpani, a custom marimba, a new xylophone, and all of the other "traps" any percussionist would wish to employ. Also on this level, a central area with tables and chairs is a frequent gathering place for students wishing to study together, or take a break from practicing. | |
