Summer Programs
Study overseas with Bucknell during the summer!
In addition to these Bucknell programs, which are normally offered each year, other programs may be available for the summer in which you wish to study. Stop by the Office of International Education for the most up-to-date information.
As a Bucknell student, you can take advantage of several summer programs offered each year. These programs allow you to study overseas with a Bucknell professor while earning Bucknell credits in a new and exciting place!
With a focus on economic issues, this three week program is led by Dr. Winston Griffith. The program, based out of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI), allows students to gain valuable experience within the Caribbean economy. Students also have the opportunity to take an independent study.
Bucknell in Nicaragua is a three week program designed to take the incredible efforts of the Bucknell Brigade program to a new level. The focus of the program is on grassroots development, teaching students about the importance of health care, organic agriculture, and sustainable development as students work side-by-side with the Nicaraguan people on community projects.
Bucknell in Northern Ireland
Bucknell in Northern Ireland is a three week program focusing primarily on psychology and peace studies. As well as studying with a Bucknell faculty member, students are given community placements where they receive hands-on experience working with the people of Northern Ireland. Students also have the opportunity to travel throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Bucknell in the Virgin Islands
Focusing on marine biology, this program allows students to study coral reefs and organisms in their native habitat. In addition to daily lectures, a strong emphasis is placed on hands-on experience in the field.
