Bucknell faculty director and program excursions
Work toward your learning goals with the guidance of a Bucknell faculty director, whose orientation course will introduce you to life in Granada and Spain. Director-led excursions to Madrid and surrounding areas, and the Andalusian cities of Sevilla and Córdoba, are integrated into the orientation course.
Challenging academic program appropriate to language proficiency level
Study Spanish and Hispanic studies (including a wide variety of courses in the humanities and social sciences) at the Universidad de Granada's prestigious Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM). Your previous coursework and a placement test will assure placement at the appropriate level.
Additional language-learning opportunities
Explore a second language taught at Bucknell or begin studying a new language, such as Arabic, Dutch, Modern Greek, Portuguese and Swedish.
Urban life in a beautiful, natural setting
Live in a city celebrated for its charm and beauty and enjoy the proximity of the snowcapped peaks of Sierra Nevada and the subtropical Mediterranean coast. With 250,000 inhabitants and a metropolitan area of 500,000, Granada is large enough to provide a stimulating social and cultural environment, yet small enough for you to come to know well.
Cultural and linguistic immersion through host families
Live with host families chosen by the CLM and Bucknell en España, and experience firsthand family life in Spain.
Access to university students and facilities
Enjoy interacting with students from around the world in your CLM courses as well as meeting Spanish and international students in CLM-sponsored activities. Take advantage of opportunities to meet some of the 50,000 Spanish students who study at the Universidad de Granada. Bucknell en España students have full access to the university libraries and facilities.
Direct enrollment course option
High advanced language students may stay for an entire academic year and directly enroll in a regular course at the Universidad de Granada.
