Department of Biomedical Engineering
Faculty & StaffThe biomedical engineering faculty group consists of a total of nine faculty members from the College of Engineering and the College of Arts & Sciences. While a general interest in the successful implementation of a biomedical engineering department is common among these faculty members, the diversity and variety of their respective areas of interest acts as the cornerstone to the program. Descriptions of the group members are provided below. Primary Faculty and Staff | James Baish Professor of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. University of Pennsylvania Interests: Biological Heat and Mass Transport, Tumor Physiology, System Dynamics, Origins of Biological Form | Daniel Cavanagh Chair, Department of Biomedical Engineering Emmitt Memorial Chair in Biomedical Engineering Associate Professor of Biomedical & Chemical Engineering Ph.D. Northwestern University Interests: Biomedical Fluid Dynamics, Therapeutic Uses of Surfactants, Intravascular Gas Embolism | Donna Ebenstein Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering Ph.D. University of California at Berkeley and San Francisco Interests: Biomaterials, Biomimetics, Nanomechanics, Structure-Property Relationships | Marie Jacob Academic Assistant Department of Biomedical Engineering Bucknell University | Eric A.
