SOCI 100
Introduction to Sociology
This course provides an essential introduction to the discipline of sociology, addressing fundamental questions about what sociology is, who sociologists are, what they do, and how they do it. We'll explore the key concepts, perspectives, methods, and issues that characterize sociological studies in a range of substantive areas to help students understand the sociological perspective and to develop a "sociological imagination" of their own. Interesting for non-majors seeking to fulfill a social sciences and/or human diversity requirement and useful for potential majors as a window into the discipline.
